A88 or any other Android phone?

Hello.

I'm not Thai, so I can't read Thai, sorry.

I would like to buy Android phone. So I've searched all Android phone from SiamPhone.com

It's really cool website Shocked

My thinking budget is around 8,000B

And I found A88 from Wellcom.

I've never heard Wellcom company name, so I'm little bit worry about Customer Service.

I would like to ask you guys.

Should I buy A88 with brand new?

or should I buy any other Android phone with 2nd handed phone?

1st hand A88 VS 2nd hand HTC other android phone

Please help me and leave any comments and reply if you suggest or recommend any other good Android phones within 8,000B

Wellcom is a local brand in Thailand.

Wellcom A88 was produced from a factory in China who produce a mobile for many local brand of many country.

The feedback from a many people in this webboard. They think buying WellcomA88 is worthwhile purchase.

I think Wellcom A88 is best choice of Android phones within 8000B.
If I have to select between A88 & 2nd Hand HTC ,I will buy A88.

About Customer service I didn't have an ideas.

P.S : I just found Spica from Samsung.

And Spica updated Android 2.1, A88 also will update 2.1 soon.

Both have same screen size, almost similar spec.

maybe my answer cant help u so much coz my english is no that good

so i cant explain all of spica's advantage

but all i can tell u is "spica is the best" and u know its a reasonable price

i have own one,cpu is very fast and smooth though!!

In my opinion,

A88 is a good choice for someone who need to learn the first android phone with do not pay more however it is powerful all functions of android phone.

About the the service, if you are only general user that you should care it. If you are a technician and pioneer to find something more than its standard, you don't worry about it because you much "ROOT" it to lock it out from the big wall that it means warranty void. Also it can become to a "BRICK" too.

I hear as soon A88 will able to upgrade to use 2.1 version around August of this year with the official ROM (not custom's ROM). That's the good news for A88 members. (compare to my HTC Magic - It's a BIG BRAND PHONE but it's in a blind news)

Another choice, the 2nd hand of android phone as I prefer you concern to your budget of 8,000THB. At the moment, you may take with Samsung Galaxy Spica I5700 with the good condition. If you spent more budget, you will take the high capability of android phone such as Motorola Milestone, HTC Hero (do not select "Magic" like me), Google Nexus One up to Sony Xperia X10 with or without Thailand official warranty that it's up to you.

Spica's CPU is faster than A88, which I really like.

But one thing I really think about is, upgrade Android.

For spica, Samsung already upgraded to Android 2.1 which is amazing.
Because Samsung is good at After Service, but suck at After Support.

I'm saying like this because I'm Korean. Laughing

Samsung phone is really cool and reasonable price, but I think for Spica, Android 2.1 is the last update for Spica.

But I really wanna try to use Android 2.2.

And for A88, they already noticed that they will update to Android 2.1 soon.
I just hope, A88 will be able to update to Android 2.2.

I'm still thinking... A88 or Spica.

If spica is able to use Android 2.2, I will choose Spica.

I watched A88 and spica video from youtube, and just my feeling is, A88 is much faster and smooth than Spica.

And I thought both screen sizes are same 3.2", but i don't know why I feel A88 screen is bigger than Spica Confused

For now, my buying point for mobile phone is support Android 2.2 or not.

For spica, I think Android 2.1 is the last update for Spica... so sad... (It just my opinion)

But A88, it's there strategy phone, so I think they will might be able to update to Android 2.2... I hope.

Anyway, I went to central and mall, and check the A88 price, and they said 9,500B.

I thought A88 is 8,990B or something... i didn't know price is this much high..

I don't know where to buy A88 with cheaper price than 9,500B...

Maybe I should go to MBK... Neutral

I don't know of you buy your new phone yet;). I just have A88 but I think you should try Samsung spica. They' re both 3.2" screen but a88 looks nicer to me. They can stream youtube but spica can play divx video which use in a common avi video files. About battery, spica gives you a 1500 mah one while a88 gives 1230 mah so spica is a little better. Overall SPCA is just a little better than a88 to me.(must admit that a88 can't play divx is annoying me but I haven't touched actual SPCA so you may have top try out your self.

I buy my a88 at the mall Bangkapi. If you can't find it there, you can
go to Wellcomm's HQ at Rama IX Rd.
